About us
Premium loudspeakers made at our Salzburg premises
Company philosophy
Affordable luxury high-end loudspeakers straight from the manufacturer
As a manufacturer offering unique, bespoke products, we provide service of the highest standard not only in our production work but in our sales operation too. Our premium loudspeakers are offered for sale directly from us. Our own showrooms in Salzburg provide the opportunity to experience the natural, clear sound of our loudspeakers. Direct contact with our customers enables us to find the best solution for their respective requirements. This has led already to many a thrilling contact and inspiring ‘listening session’.
Handmade in Europe
Be it the skilled cabinet maker from Austria with long-standing expertise in the making of loudspeakers, the supplier of special crossover components from Germany and Denmark, or our partners from Norway and Germany, who create loudspeaker chassis developed specifically for us – each partnership contributes to the creation of a unique acoustic experience.
At our site in Neumarkt near Salzburg we combine all these high-quality components into a work of art for the eyes and ears. The combination of craftsmanship and innovative technology is more than just the sum of its parts. What is created is an overall work of art that not only appeals to the senses, but also recognises the close relationship with our European suppliers and reflects their expertise.
Outstanding design
Music is an art form that should be experienced in appropriate manner. We were already working with a product designer way back in 2000, and the result of that cooperation was the Sculpture – a behemoth with a slim silhouette and numerous technical finesses.
Supporting our work since 2014 has been the Belgian product designer Stan Maes, who, with his extraordinary feel for the combination of elegance and dynamics, gives distinctive style to the design of our loudspeakers.
Individualisation
In the world of finishes and designs every loudspeaker is not only an acoustic masterpiece, but also a visual joy that enriches your room. Whether it be the choice of colours for the surface coatings, the array of numerous veneers or the look of the decorative chassis rings – we want to ensure that your loudspeaker goes perfectly with your personal style.
Quality standards
Quality standards begin with the very development of loudspeakers.
We employ progressive methods here, such as the finite element method, to ensure that our products satisfy the highest of demands. But that is just the beginning. The selection of our suppliers is of key importance in order to ensure that every step of the way leads to perfection.
When it comes to the manufacturing process too, we know no compromise. Our aim is to produce loudspeaker pairs of outstandingly identical quality. We therefore put every chassis we use through a rigorous process: they are all run in for hours, tested and then selected in pairs.
Ahead of being built into our loudspeakers, this careful selection in pairs applies also to resistors, capacitors and inductors.
But that is far from all! In our ultra-modern testing room every finished loudspeaker is subjected to a comparison with its twin loudspeaker and to a reference measurement.
A final listening test is the last step in our quality standards process, before the loudspeakers are packaged up and dispatched.

Company location
Salzburg music culture
There are probably few places on earth where music and culture are as much part of the city’s life as they are in Salzburg. Over 100 years ago, theatre director Max Reinhardt was already noting that “Salzburg’s atmosphere is steeped in beauty, drama and art”.
The city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, stands for unparalleled cultural diversity. World-famous characters such as Herbert von Karajan, Stefan Zweig and Hugo von Hofmannsthal contributed significantly to the city’s cultural development. Above it all, however, hovers the spirit of one of the greatest musical geniuses of all time: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
In the immediate vicinity of this inspiring atmosphere Acoustic Design develops loudspeakers that aim to be nothing less than some of the best in the world.
We at Acoustic Design utilise the array of live music and festivals in Salzburg to draw inspiration for our work on loudspeaker development.
Our speakers reproduce music not in a cool way, but emotionally charged and played in the way you experience a successful concert of any music genre: authentically and passionately.
Our premises
In 2018, the company moved to its current location in Neumarkt am Wallersee, just 20 minutes away from the pulsating centre of Salzburg.
With space of over 400 square metres, the site offers us ample room to carry out the diverse stages of development and customer-specific production of our loudspeakers to the highest quality standards. On the upper floor we have not only offices, but also two inviting demonstration rooms, which have been designed acoustically to recreate normal home living space conditions.
Our tuning room on the ground floor was developed in collaboration with a German acoustics specialist. It serves not only as a space for the calibration of new developments, but also as an inspirational environment for ‘listening demonstrations’. The flexible acoustics of this space can be adapted for this purpose to the respective requirements.
In the impressive reverberation room, which measures 4.5 x 4.5 x 4.5 metres, we carry out acoustic measurements of loudspeaker chassis and cabinets.
In the listening rooms we demonstrate a variety of set-ups from prestigious brands such as Accuphase, Linn, Roksan, Symphonice Line, Transrotor, Parasound, ToneArt, Audio Research and Cyrus. Our loudspeakers can be experienced there as desired in combination with CD players, record players or streaming services. A place that unites technology and passion in the service of perfect sound.
